International meetings
In addition to presenting at international conferences, members of the Manicaland Centre regularly attend or organise meetings to discuss opportunities and obstacles for HIV prevention, treatment, care and support of those affected. We believe that such meetings are crucial to engage with decision makers and to ensure that our experiences and findings make a real impact. |
National meetings
The Manicaland Project disseminates its research findings at national meetings and contributes regularly to national research and policy meetings on HIV/AIDS issues. Project personnel contribute regularly to a number of national HIV/AIDS policy forums including the National M&E Advisory Committee, the PMTCT Partnership Forum, the ART Partnership Forum, and the Prevention Team for the Zimbabwe National AIDS Strategic Plan (2011-2015). |
Booklets
Providing HIV infected communities with dialogical spaces and resources to build their awareness and to reflect on social issues is a necessary precondition for social change. It is important to us that we engage with people at a community level and make sure that our findings are made available and accessible to them in their own language. We are therefore producing leaflets to widely disseminate our findings and booklets that community members can actively engage with. |
Exhibitions
The Manicaland Centre has been using the draw-and-write method to elicit children's views and perspectives of the HIV epidemic. To provide these children with a voice to a wider audience, and to make the general public aware of their circumstances, we are working to exhibit their drawings and stories in locations of significance and to organise events around the exhibitions. |
