Noah KadzuraNoah Kadzura is the Manicaland HIV/STD Prevention Project Fieldwork Supervisor. He holds a BSc Degree in Sociology and Gender development studies with the Women’s University in Africa. He also holds a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation for Public Health Interventions with the University of Zimbabwe. He worked as a research assistant for close to 5 years under the Manicaland HIV/STD Prevention Project and the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research (CeSSHAR). He has gained vast experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative researches.
The scope of his job is to ensure production of good quality research data through fieldwork supervision during data collection. This is achieved through assisting the Fieldwork Manager in training and conducting on-job mentorship to new research assistants, other support staff and carrying out community entry and leading a team of research assistants in the field where research participants are found. Mr Kadzura also carries out data verification and data quality checks for questionnaires done by research assistants and handles complaints from both research assistants and community members and ensures that remedial action is taken. After data has been processed and analysed, he also organises meetings with traditional leadership and community members to disseminate research results for the project. At every stage in carrying out fieldwork, he ensures that project resources such as incentives given to village guides and research participants and the project vehicle assigned to the team are accounted for. He is also involved in carrying out Monitoring and Evaluation activities in Nyanga, Mutasa and Makoni districts where the project operates. He assists the project M&E Officer in carrying out routine Data verification exercises and participating in M&E taskforce meetings to ensure that reliable and accurate data is send to the Provincial health office. The M&E activities involve working with the Ministry of Health and child care and the National Aids Council (NAC) in planning and prioritising activities to enhance health service delivery in the 3 districts. |
