Morten SkovdalMorten is a community health psychologist with a particular interest in children's health and community responses to HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. He works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health and the University of Copenhagen. He has acted a senior advisor to Save the Children and is a Trustee and co-founder of a non-governmental organisation in Western Kenya that funds local community initiatives in support of vulnerable children. In partnership with the Manicaland HIV Project, Morten is currently working as an investigator on a research project looking at how schools can help HIV-affected children cope with the impacts of poverty and disease in Zimbabwe. He is conducting a similar study in Western Kenya. The projects are funded by ESRC-DFID and the Norwegian Research Council respectively.
